    Dear Fourth Graders,
Congratulations on a job well done in third grade this year! You have worked hard and deserve a nice summer break! However, don't forget to read (maybe join a summer reading program), practice your math (especially your multiplication/division flashcards and long division- DMSCBR- Does McDonald's Serve Cheese Burgers Rare?), and write in your spiral copybook or extra red lined copybook in complete sentences about "stuff" that you do over your summer vacation!
    Thank you

for a wonderful year andClip Art Schools Out for making our class a family in third grade. Remember that God gives you 168 hours a week and just asks you for 1 hour back by going to mass each week.
(Oh, and by the way, "Merry Christmas!")
    God bless you always,
Love all of you very much,
    Mrs. Otto
    Dear Parents of Third Grade,
It is really hard to believe that this time of the year is here already! Where has the time gone? It has really been a wonderful and busy year in 3rd Grade. I have really thoroughly enjoyed working with each and every one of your children. You have done a great job of raising your children!!! They have really been an enjoyable class to watch grow throughout the year.
I have many beautiful memories from the year. We have all grown from the experiences that we have shared this year. I have learned so much from them. I have watched your children grow into very responsible students this year. They have really tackled the expectations that I have placed upon them in third grade.
Statistics state that a child who does not read throughout the summer may lose 3 months or more of reading ability. If possible have them join a summer reading club. I would strongly suggest that your child continue to practice his or her math multiplication and division flashcards for speed over the summer. It is assumed that these facts are mastered for fourth grade. Some are having trouble with long division. Please practice. I would also suggest that they utilize any opportunity throughout the summer to write. Remind them of beginning and ending their sentences correctly.
Your child takes many lessons with them from Third Grade. It is my hope that these lessons will prepare them for a successful year in Fourth Grade! I wish them my very best!
Parents, I would like to thank you for your unending support and cooperation in so many ways throughout the year. God bless you for all that you have done!!! Your child’s success would not have been possible without you!!!
I wish you, your child, and your family a happy, safe, and relaxing summer.
    Love,
    Mrs. Pat Otto
